Board members serving terms for 2013 / 2014 are: President – Joe Vetick 910-8732, Vice President – Gary Abegglen 564-4995, Colleen Bray 564-9020, Nick Larson (402) 304-2245, Craig Riley 564-9551, Dirk Wagner 910-5067, Mark Wagner 386-5558, Matt Mueller 562-7722, Larry Ruffner 562-9017 and Secretary / Treasurer Karen Bulkley 564-7423.

LAKE SAFETY MANAGER – Please contact Gary Podraza immediately if you observe dangerous activity occurring on the lake.  Provide a description of the boat or the identification number if possible.  His number is 402-910-8690 or 563-2414. Please refrain from parking boats on the south side of the island area.  No tubes are to be pulled in NO WAKE areas or channels.  State law requires all children under 13 wear a coast guard approved life jacket.  Life jackets must be available for all occupants in your boat.

The length of ropes for tubing was discussed at length by the board. The length will remain at 40’ due to the size of our lake and safety issues. Here are instructions for Cleat Hitch:

1. Take a turn around the base of the cleat, and then bring the line over the top of the cleat

2. Wrap the line back under the arm of the cleat opposite the first turn, then back over the top of cleat.

3 Wrap under the first arm a 2nd time and then back over the top of the cleat.  You have now made a figure eight pattern over and around the cleat.  Now form an under hand loop and slip that loop over the arm of the cleat, which pins the free end under the last wrap.

4. Pull the free end tight and you have the neat, tidy and secure Cleat Hitch.

ZEBRA MUSSELS – Before leaving and launching INSPECT EVERYTHING!  Zebra Mussels continue to be a threat.  If you take your boat to another site you are required to follow prevention protocol. CLEAN – Remove plants, animals, mud and thoroughly wash all equipment that came into contact with water.  DRAIN - Drain all water before leaving, including wells, bilge, ballast, and any parts or equipment that can hold water.  DRY – Allow all equipment to dry completely a minimum of 24hrs before launching into another body of water. BAIT – Do not dump bait into the lake water! Dispose of unused bait in the trash.    Do not allow the placement of new or used Shore Stations into Wagner Lakes before contacting Gary Podraza.  Zebra Mussels may be transferred unintentionally by the installers.
