Lake Shocking
Lake Shocking will be done on Tuesday, June 7, 2011 beginning at 8:30am with a rain date of June 8th. No restrictions are necessary when the lake is shocked. The fish being removed are fit for human consumption. There is no danger to humans or animals. Please feel free to call Larry Bosak at 564-0836 with questions prior to the day of shocking.
On June 8, 2010 Nebraska Lake Management conducted the lake
shocking.
Overall 163 common carp, 390 river carpsuckers, 589 gizzard shad, 4 shortnose
gar, 10 longnose gar, and 15 bigmouth buffalo were removed. The total weight
removed was 2880 pounds.
Rob Hofbar states” the fishery is in good shape”. They observed several nice
walleye up to 10+ pounds. Overall the water quality and clarity was great.
Rob’s recommendation is to “continue stocking predators (walleye, wipers or blue
catfish) to establish more strong year classes which will help keep rough fish
population under control”.
