**The St. Luke's family extends its sympathy to the family of Margaret Witte, who passed away on April 15. Her funeral service was at St. Luke's on April 18, with Rev. Carol Taylor of St. Peter's UCC of Yutan officiating. Please keep Ron and Carol Witte and all of Margaret's family in your thoughts and prayers during this time of sorrow and loss.

COUNCIL MEETING MINUTES - March 11, 2008
President Greg Luchsinger called the meeting to order. Jan Kline gave devotions. Members present were Greg Luchsinger, Gayleen Hingst, Dianne Clause, Diana Luchsinger, Bobbi Saunders, Roger Evans, Ron Schroeder and Luella Luchsinger. Jaelyn Witte, a confirmand, was a guest, along with Jan Kline.
The minutes were amended to read as follows: install Roger Evans, Chair of Board of Trustees, and Luella Luchsinger, Chair of Women's Fellowship. Motion made by Dianne Clause to accept the minutes of February 11, 2008 including the amendment. Seconded by Roger Evans and carried.
Motion by Luella Luchsinger to accept the Treasurer's report for February and pay the March bills. Seconded by Bobbi Saunders and carried.
Old Business: The copier will arrive the first or second week in April at a cost of $9,390.00.
Motion made by Bobbi Saunders to put Jan Kline back on the payroll for visitations at $100.00 per month, plus mileage. Seconded by Diana Luchsinger and carried.
New Business: Motion made by Diana Luchsinger to put in the church bulletin the next two Sundays a letter from Elle Klink to purchase Supper Thyme meals on March 28, 2008, to help Ryan Went, a cancer survivor. Seconded by Luella Luchsinger and carried.
Motion by Bobbi Saunders to appoint Darlene Spitz and Casey Gieseking to the Board of Diaconate. Seconded by Roger Evans and carried.
Board Reports: (Note: only those boards giving a report are named.) Women's Fellowship: Holly Recek will be cleaning the kitchen floor twice monthly. Easter breakfast after the sunrise service will be served by the Women's Fellowship. They will also be serving the lunch on March 12, 2008 after the noon Lenten service at Methodist Church. Trustees: The gas water heater at the preschool needs to be replaced. They are getting bids on new carpet for downstairs Sunday School rooms because of the water damage. Diaconate: Presented March 4, 2008 minutes. Christian Education: Confirmation supper held Sunday evening March 9, 2008. Bible School will be held the first week in June. Music: Picked out new songs for Sunday services.

DIACONATE MEETING MINUTES - April 1, 2008
The Diaconate met in the Fellowship Hall for a work meeting with the following members present: Darlyn Spitz and guest Virgil Spitz, Casey Gieseking, Jean Fergin, Don Kummer, Tim Kimberling and Bobbi Saunders.
The poinsettias for Christmas were counted and the tea lights were counted and repaired as needed. Thirty-seven ceramic pots will be purchased to stabilize the poinsettias. There will be no May meeting unless something comes up.
Adam will put up a sign up sheet for volunteers to lead the singing of hymns during church.

VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL
Vacation Bible School will be June 2 -6, 2008. The theme is Rain Forest Adventures. If you would like to help out with VBS, please contact Dianne Clause at 402-910-3768 or let the office know. We need teachers, helpers, craft people, recreation people, decorating, and food people. Men or women are invited to volunteer. We have guides for all the activities so you would have material at your fingertips to use. We definitely need someone to help with games. We have a complete book of games to select from. Thanks for your time.

SUMMER CAMP
It is again time to think of summer camp at Kamp Kaleo located near Burwell, NE. Several youth from St. Luke's have gone to these camps in the past and we are looking forward to going again this year. If you would be able to help sponsor our youth this summer by giving a donation to help defray some of the cost, it would be greatly appreciated.
