The idea for this book began to form after I had written a few poems and had shared them with a few people.  They encouraged me even though they knew a bit about my background.  I appreciated their encouragement as friends and kept writing.  I think that you might know me a bit better and enjoy these poems more if I share some facts about my life.

I was born in 1964 in Columbus, NE.  Almost immediately they knew I was going to be an unusual person because of the list of diseases I had.  The mumps, measles, and chicken pox all occurred within the first few weeks.  The slow development of my bones and muscles was also a concern and a form of cerebral palsy was diagnosed at around two years of age.  It was found that my left eye and ear were deficient and most motor skills were slow developing.  My school years were tough and several special classes and moving from school to school seemed to make things worse.  I was not able to obtain enough credits to get a regular high school diploma.

When confirmation classes were held in my Methodist Church for my age group I attended and began to develop my relationship with Christ.   Many pastors' influence and church friends helped me enjoy Sunday School and other activities from that time to the present.  Recent participation in Walk to Emmaus and other involvement in committees and activities has convinced me that I want to continue to spread God's love.  My hope is that God's love will come to you through these words.
