There are currently 16 full time patrol deputies in the Patrol Division . All deputies are fully certified with jurisdictional powers within Platte County inclusive of the City of Columbus. Inter-local agreements with other law enforcement agencies within Platte County are presently in existence. Other agencies with jurisdiction of all or a part of Platte County include the Nebraska State Patrol, Columbus Police Department, Humphrey Police Department and Nebraska Game and Parks Division. |

The Corrections Division is operated under the Office of the Sheriff. The Director is a sworn officer with the rank of Lieutenant. The Detention Center provides a secure holding facility for persons legally confined in Platte County, including pre-trial, pre-sentence and sentenced adult male and female inmates. The facility also houses inmates from other counties within the State. The current jail facility has a total of 38 full time male and female correction officers that man the facility 24 hours a day 7 days a week. |

The Patrol Division of the Platte County Sheriff’s Office is housed in the Hall of Justice Building located at 2610 14th Street, Columbus, Nebraska. |

The Dive Rescue Team is funded completely through donations and fund raising events by the Dive Team members. All divers are trained in numerous types |

The Platte County Detention Facility is located at 1125 East 17th Street, Columbus NE. And is approximately 60,000 square feet in size. |
|
Unused advanced fees will be refunded. Please make checks payable to the Platte County Sheriff.
When Submitting papers to the Sheriff’s Office for service, please enclose the original for return purposes and copies for service. |
