About Us

The Platte County Sheriff's Office is involved with numerous community programs throughout Platte County. These programs include: D.A.R.E., Neighborhood Watch, TRIAD, Community Policing, Dive Rescue Team, Crime Stoppers, Domestic Violence Response Team, and S.N.A.R.E. Drug Task Force to name a few. The Platte County Sheriff's Office offers a ride-along program for the citizens of Platte County. This gives the citizen an opportunity to ride along with a deputy. To participate in the ride-along program citizens are asked to contact the Platte County Sheriff's Office in advance.

Neighborhood Watch in the different communities and housing additions in Platte County was started in conjunction with Platte County TRIAD in 1996. The majority of communities within the county are currently participating in the  program.

The D.A.R.E. program is currently  taught in 12 different schools within Platte County by the Platte County Sheriff's Office D.A.R.E. instructor.

Platte County Area Crime Stoppers was formed in May of 1983. Since then: 1672 Code numbers assigned, 302 cases have been cleared 369 arrests have been made and $273,500.00 in property recovered $24,850.00 have been awarded.

Platte County TRIAD was instituted in 1986. It is an organization comprised of members of the Platte County Sheriff's Office, Columbus Police Department and the local AARP. TRIAD helps combat crimes against the elderly.

CRT Team consists of members of the Platte County Sheriff's Office, Columbus Police Department, County Probation, Court System, County Attorney, Center for Survivors, Health and Human Services and Victim Witness Advocacy Team. The goals of the CRT Team are to keep victims of domestic violence safer, to hold batters accountable for their crimes and to help make the criminal justice system user friendly forvictims of domestic violence.

The Nebraska AMBER Alert Notification Plan America's Missing: Broadcast Emergency Response. The AMBER Plan is a voluntary partnership between law-enforcement agencies and broadcasters to activate an urgent bulletin in the most serious child-abduction cases.
