About Us
Optometric Center of Columbus, P.C. was formed in 1979 by Dr. Charles Gray and the late Dr. Chuck Seeger. Originally located on Howard Boulevard, the office moved to its present location, 3702 23rd Street, in 1990.
Joining the practice were Dr. Jay Trofholz in 1980 and Dr. Kevin Hobbs in 1987. Drs. Gray, Trofholz, and Hobbs practiced together until Dr. Gray's retirement in 2000.
The Optometric Center is founded on the principal that you, the patient, are the most important person in the office. It is because of this principal that we are committed to providing you and your family with eye care of the highest standard.

| Dr. Trofholz was born and raised in Schuyler, Nebraska. He attended Creighton University and received his Bachelor of Science and Doctor of Optometry degrees from the University of Houston College of Optometry in 1980. He and his wife Jeanine have three children. His interests include golf and basketball. | Dr. Hobbs was born and raised in Wilber, Nebraska. He attended the University of Nebraska - Lincoln and received his Doctor of Optometry degree from the Ohio State University College of Optometry, Cum Laude, in 1986. Dr. Hobbs practiced in Hastings, Nebraska for one year before coming to Columbus. He and his wife, Michelle have two children. His hobbies include snow skiing and basketball. |
Doctors Trofholz and Hobbs are licensed to practice optometry by the Nebraska Board of Optometry, certified in diagnostics, therapeutics and glaucoma treatment. Both are members of the Nebraska Optometric Association and the American Optometric Association.
