This Die Bold Co. bank vault door weighs 5000 lbs and is 3 1/2 in.
thick. It was built in the late 1920s and was installed in the mid-1930s
in the First National Bank who donated it in June 2001 to museum.

1857 Gottschalk Log Cabin
with Period Furnishings
The Gottschalk cabin was
built in 1857 and now stands enclosed within the Platte
County Museum's new addition. Many of these
furnishings were the originals still in the cabin after 146
years.
