2003-2004 NFCR Platform

Proposed by Amanda Stone, May 3, 2003

The purpose of the Nebraska Federation of College Republicans, in my view, is to provide an outlet for all conservative, Republican students on Nebraska college campuses.  In addition, we will provide support to our parent organizations, the College Republican National Committee and the Nebraska Republican Party.  Finally, we will encourage all students to b actively involved in the political process to increase numbers for the 2004 election cycle.  In order to do this, I propose this outline of goals for the NFCR in order to increase our name recognition and our ability to unite the campuses in Nebraska now with our eyes on the future.

Summer 2003

Fundraising

v     Conduct a massive letter campaign to all Republican donors in Nebraska asking for funds to attend 2003 College Republican National Convention in Washington, D.C.

o       Letters will be followed up by personal phone calls.

o       5 members from the Creighton Chapter are currently registered to attend at a cost of nearly $2000.

v     This will also be a part of the effort to raise awareness of the NRCR and our goals.

Presence

v     Create a website with information about the NFCR as well as updates about events and members.

v     Executive attendance at Nebraska Republican Party events to increase recognition.

Recruiting

v     Contact state auditor to obtain a list of all registered Republicans under 23.

o       Send an invitation to join the NFCR to these people.

o       Request that persons interested in being a leader on their campuses should contact the NFCR with hopes to locate potential new chapter chairs.

v     Contact Political Science Departments on all Nebraska campuses asking for references of strong conservatives in their departments.

o       Contact these leaders and invite them to join the NFCR.
