The great blue heron was photographed on the Platte River by NEBRASKAland photographer Roy David Farris of Fremont. The background was adapted from 100-year-old wallpaper found in an Alma home. Platte Sentry was judged "Best of Show" during a French cross stitch contest, and spent two weeks on display in that country. Platte Sentry Kit uses 19 colors of Anchor embroidery floss on the heron, and 7 colors in the background. Unframed, the design size on 11-count fabric is about 24" x 16". The heron is stitched on 14-count waste canvas over 11-count Aida. It could also be stitched on garments. Platte Sentry Art comes matted and custom framed by Antique Nebraska Barn Siding Frames of Republican City, Nebraska. |
