Survival

No one seems to know why worn out cowboy boots are hung on fence posts. The most logical explanation comes from the University of Texas: Cowboys hung their boots upside down on fence posts when they went to sleep at night to keep varmints from crawling into the boots. The hawk in this picture was originally photographed by Don Brockmeier, president of Farmers State Bank in Eustis, Nebraska.
