At first, it was just a dream of a group of Clarkson High School girls--the Sunshine Club. Adopted as its personal project, the library was in operation by 1923.  The Woman's Club and the Village Board added their support in 1928. A building fund was created and the Clarkson Memorial Library was dedicated August 28, 1960 in memory of Joseph and Mary Krahulik.

That was the start of the library and after the dedication in 1991 of the new building at 318 Pine Street, there have been many positive changes and  improvements over the years to meet the needs and demands of a growing community. The library has made technological advances as well as keeping abreast of all the latest in reading and visual materials.
