With the recently completed needs assessment report "Taking Action".  The Columbus Collaborative Team (CCT) is set to bring together interested persons to work together to improve our community.  CCT will sponsor four standing committees to address several priority issues selected by its Board of Directors.  A June 14, 2005 community forum initiated this process.  Each committee will be given several months to develop a "plan of action" and then will work for several years to accomplish its goals.  The long-range plan should be available by late Fall in 2005.

The four standing committees and the issues they will address are:

Children & Families

  • Parenting Skills
  • Parent Resources

Child Care

  • Availability of Child Care
  • Quality Childcare

Diversity
  • Communication with Non-English speakers
  • Outreach to immigrant population to address other priority needs areas

Youth Development
  • Underage Alcohol Use
  • Illegal Drug Use
  • Teenage Pregnancy
  • Character Building
