Here is what a few of our Big Pals have had to say about their experiences:

"I don’t know who has benefited most.  I have just as much fun with my Little Pal as she has had with me.  I think we will always be friends."

"Volunteering is like exercising.  It’s taking time out of your day.  But, once you do it you look forward to it, enjoy it, and feel better afterwards.  People often think of volunteering like taking time away from their day, not enriching their day.  I donate time because it’s fun."

"Give it a try.  You will get back more than you give.  The couple hours you give each week will be more than worth it.  I look forward to it every week.  The Little Pals get a lot out of the program.  But, the couple hours you give each week will not be done begrudgingly but hours that you look forward to and would miss if you stop being a Big Pal."

"I truly believe that the Big Pals~Little Pals program works wonders and it does make a difference in a child’s life.  Both the Big and Little Pal benefit from it in many ways.  I highly recommend that you cherish every moment you have with your Little Pal.  They are definitely a gift from God.  Enjoy their smiles and the sounds of their laughter.  And believe in every one of their dreams."

"I think I get more out of the program than she does.  I love to see her laugh and grow.  It is really rewarding how she has grown and matured and handled her problems the last two years.  I can listen to her and let her vent.  I don’t have to be an authority figure to tell her things she can’t do.  I can be the good and fun adult in her life.  I can just listen and let her talk. I am so proud of the way she has matured and worked through her problems."

"I would recommend being a Big Pal to anyone.  It is very fulfilling.  Any age level would benefit from having a Little Pal, even older people.  If you are lonely, don’t have family in Columbus, or don’t have a lot of things to do it is a good way interact with people.  You don’t need to spend a lot of time to be a Big Pal. 1-2 hours a week is all that is needed to make a difference in a child’s life."
